Website Development

Whether clients are creating a new domain and website, modernizing or updating an existing site, or recreating an old site entirely, we complete our website development work internally with team members expressly focused on ensuring the aesthetics of form and function are integrated with best practices for responsiveness and ease of modification on the back end.

Our preference is to develop websites in WordPress utilizing Elementor builder.  We utilize SEO plugins and Google Search Console to maximize the exposure and efficacy of the site.  We implement security and back up plugins.  We’ve worked with a few specific elements that are important to note:  custom post types, memberships, ads, e-commerce, LMS (e-learning), property listing structures (custom and APIs), blogs, maps and custom diagrams, extensive photo and logo galleries, forms and email campaign APIs, image sourcing, and copywriting.

We think that what we DON’T do is as important as what we DO do in the website development practice area:

  • We do not host sites or profit from our client’s selections. However, we do make recommendations for hosting companies that answer the phone and have superior service.
  • We do not commingle sites and digital assets.  Each clients’ site stands alone.
  • We do not claim ownership or intellectual property of the work we do on behalf of clients.
  • We do not use questionable content – imagery we source is licensed, content we write belongs to our clients and is not scraped/copied/duplicated from other sites. We took the lessons to heart that we learned about plagiarism in school.
  • We do not hold sites hostage, ever.  We transition them to our clients immediately upon completion.
  • We do not outsource site development.  We are the actual people who are working on your site.  Bekah, Bre, Mel, and Lourden most likely!  Though we have additional team members who are awesome at popping in and helping too.
  • We do not force our clients to use us for edits.  In fact, we create training videos for clients to do their own edits and specifically utilize frameworks that enable clients to do so, confidently. (Though we are really responsive for ongoing edits, too!)

Because website development is a sizeable investment for any sized firm, and because we have seen a lot of bad behavior in this practice area, we are always happy to talk to folks regardless of whether they ever work with us.  There are real pitfalls.
